Dr. Sarah Kinney

Sarah Kinney grew up in rural upstate New York and lived in the Upper Midwest and Rocky Mountain region for many years prior to moving to Florida. She has always loved learning about the created world and creatures around her and with that intent, she attended Calvin College, earning a B.S. in Environmental Science in 2000, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning an M.S. in Conservation Biology in 2003. During that time, she participated in bat research in Belize and Black-footed Ferret research in Wyoming. In order to take care of animals on a more individual level, she then pursued her degree in veterinary medicine and graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2010. She moved to Florida after graduation and starting working at McAbee Veterinary Hospital in December of 2010. Dr. Kinney is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, the Florida Veterinary Medicine Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and is a Certified Cat-Friendly Practitioner. Her professional interests include feline medicine, internal medicine, and preventive care. Her personal interests include international travel, especially to exotic and off-the-beaten path locations, visiting family and friends across the United States, as well as reading and spending time with the 2 best cats in the world, Amos and Ours.
