McAbee Veterinary Hospital, established in 1962 by Dr. Harry S. McAbee, has been providing quality care for family pets in Central Florida for nearly 50 years.  Following his service in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, Dr. Harry S. McAbee graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1951.  Dr. Scott W. McAbee, a 1990 graduate of the same school, took over the practice in 1991. 

Our 27 employees, including 5 doctors with combined professional experience of over 80 years, are committed to compassionately providing pets with the most up-to-date wellness care, and diagnostic and treatment plans.  We are one of the longest-standing members of the American Animal Hospital Association in Central Florida - your pet's assurance of high-quality veterinary care. 

Our staff is sensitive to the needs of our clients and their pets.  We fully understand that the needs of each client may be different, and that only through effective communication can reasonable options be presented.

  • Scott W. McAbee, D.V.M.

    Graduated from The College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in 1990 and took over his father's practice in 1991. Dr. McAbee has a special interest in advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.  A member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, Florida Veterinary Medicine Association, Central Florida Veterinary Medicine Association, and The American Animal Hospital Association, Dr. McAbee is committed to providing the most up to date care for your pet.

  • Chantal Jones, D.V.M.

    Graduated from The University of Florida in 1986 and began practicing at McAbee Veterinary Hospital in 1987. A member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, Florida Veterinary Medicine Association, and Central Florida Veterinary Medicine Association, Dr. Jones enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially preventive health care.

  • Patty Palumbo, D.V.M.

    Attended Auburn University from 1986-1989, majoring in Microbiology. She then followed in the footsteps of her father and attended The College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University from 1989-1993. Dr. Palumbo worked in private practice and also Emergency Medicine prior to joining McAbee Veterinary Hospital in 1996. Dr. Palumbo is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, Florida Veterinary Medicine Association, and Central Florida Veterinary Medicine Association.

  • Sarah Kinney, D.V.M.

    Graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2010.  She attended Calvin College, earning a B.S. in Environmental Science in 2000, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning an M.S. in Conservation Biology in 2003, and participated in black-footed ferret and bat research prior to pursuing her career in veterinary medicine.  Dr. Kinney is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association and the Florida Veterinary Medicine Association. Her professional interests include feline medicine, neurology, and dermatology.

  • Linda West, D.V.M.

    Dr. Linda West received a B.A. in Music from the University of Virginia before realizing her dream of becoming a veterinarian and graduating from the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.  She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and has special interests in dermatology and preventive care.  She shares her home with a small zoo including four dogs and a parrot.

  • Charli Jane Braun, D.V.M.

    Graduated from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, in 2010.  She then completed an internship at the University of Missouri Veterinary Teaching Hospital.  Dr. Braun enjoys practicing all aspects of small animal medicine and is also active with the young leaders committee in the Florida Veterinary Medical Association.  Dr. Braun moved to Central Florida to be with her husband, Eric, and family.  Dr. Braun and her husband share their home with Parker, a yellow lab, and Merlin, a Burmese cat.

  • Kelley Kingsland, Lead Surgical Tech

    Has been a Veterinary Technician at McAbee Veterinary Hospital for over 17 years.  Kelley has over 26 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician and over 5 years as a groomer.   Prior to joining McAbee Veterinary Hospital, Kelley trained police dogs, search and rescue dogs, and Schutzhund dogs.  Kelley lives on a small sheep farm where she is active in sheep herding trials.  Kelley is a member of the American Border Collie Handler's Association.
